Welcome to Red Deer Ringette Active Start!
What is Active Start?
Active Start is a developmental ringette program open to children ages 4 & up that teaches fundamentals and skill development. Children will learn basic skating skills, including basic stance, falling and getting up, edges, balance on skates, forward/backward stride and glide. Active Start promotes the development of social skills, introduces children to new friends and builds confidence. Experience is not required.
The focus of Active Start is on fun, and not competition. Players will be introduced to the concept of informal games in a ½ ice format, but games will not be played against other teams.
