Respect In Sport For Parents / Respect In Sport For Leaders

Hi Parents

For the 2018/2019 season onward, all families registered in Red Deer Ringette will be required to have one parent/guardian that is certified under the Respect in Sport Parent or Respect in Sport Activity Leader program by Nov 1, 2018.

If you ARE NOT currently certified through another organization, there is a $30.00 fee for completing the training and it is valid for 5 years.  Please complete the training using the Parent Certification link as per below.  Start with the “New to this program” option and it will lead you through the steps to complete the training.

If you ARE currently certified through another sport organization you can copy that certification record over to the RDR database under the Ringette Canada RiS umbrella.

• I found it easiest to start with the “New to this program” option.
• It will open to ask if you are already certified in one of a number of RiS options.
• Click on the appropriate button.
• You will be asked for the child’s name that the certification is registered with in the other organization (in my case it was my son’s name).
• The program will then copy across your parent information and then provide a screen to update the child’s name to which the certification is to be applied to (this is where I entered my daughter’s name).
• You will also be asked to identify the organization so continue through the drop downs until you reach Red Deer Ringette (we are under Zone 4).
• You will then be prompted to confirm the information and the program should indicate that your certification is current under RDR’s records.
• If you are certified as an activity leader in another organization and are only registering as a “parent” under RDR’s records you may need to complete a couple modules as shown under the “Program Access” tab.
